Sadie Margaret Snow aged 98, of Birch Grove, passed away peacefully at the Glace Bay Hospital surrounded by her loving family.
Sadie was born on Dec. 6, 1916 in Carbonear, Newfoundland to Mary Louise (Butts) and John Snow. She came to Birch Grove at the age of 5 years with her parents and older sister Mable.
Sadie was happiest when she had a house full of company, especially on Sunday’s when her family came to visit. She enjoyed her trips to Dollarama, picking berries in the back field, hanging out laundry and decorating for Christmas. Sadie had an exceptionally keen mind.
Sadie is survived by her sisters, Leah Ferguson, Flora Antonello (Pius), brothers, Chesley Snow (Maisie) and Robert and sister-in-law Isabel Snow as well as many nieces and nephews especially Nancy and Norma Carson and Shawn Carson.
She was predeceased by sister Mable Kibyuk, Louise Carson, Emily Lynk, brothers, William and Andy and Charles in infancy.
A visitation will take place on Wednesday, July 15 at Patten Funeral Home from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, July 16 at Patten Funeral Home Chapel with interment to follow in Greenwood Cemetery.
