Kathy Munroe
New Glasgow - Kathy Gail Munroe, age 59, of New Glasgow, passed away Saturday, July 11, 2015 at home, as she wished.
Born in New Glasgow, she was the daughter of the late Harold and Pearl (MacDonald) Munroe.
Kathy grew up in New Glasgow and attended New Glasgow schools. She was a graduate of the Aberdeen School of Nursing, Class of 1975, retiring from the Aberdeen Hospital after 37 years of nursing. She enjoyed travelling, most recently her trips to Florida.
She is survived by her brother, Billy; cousins: Janet and Andrew Soles, Virginia, Weldon Grover, MacLellan’s Mountain; childhood friends: Donna, Maureen and Beth Murphy, Cookie Adamson and Kenda Rice; special children: Lindsay (Fraser) MacEachern, Jared Fraser, Drew and Tanner Murphy; special friends: Mamie Curley, Heather (Ross) Brown and Heather McCara; and many other good friends.
Cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation by request.
A Celebration of Kathy’s Life will take place at 6 pm Sunday in the North End Recreation Centre, New Glasgow. Reception to follow.
Burial will be in Heatherdale Memorial Gardens.
Donations in her memory may be made to a charity of choice.
