MYRDEN (Nee Gear)
Audrey Helen
April 4, 1925 - July 14, 2015
Audrey Myrden entered eternal life on July 14, 2015, she was welcomed into the arms of her father Dr. Walter Gear, her mother, Angelina Gear, her sister, Doris Mercer and her brother Gordon Gear. Her spirit (and many recipes) will be carried on by her four children, grandchildren, and her many wonderful friends. Audrey was born and raised in Grand Falls, NL graduated from her high school, Grand Falls Academy and attended Mount Allison University to become a Dietician. Unfortunately, she never finished her degree as her dad passed away while she was in University and she had to return home to look after her mother. She married the late Jack Myrden and moved to Corner Brook, NL where she raised her children; Bruce Myrden (Lillian), Sherry White (Dr. Paul), Diane Myrden (Rodney) and Blair Myrden all who claim to be her favourite. She would never admit who that "really" was. Also left to remember her fondly are her grandchildren; Dr. Susan Myrden (Joe Hutton), Nancy Myrden, Tawnya Solo (Shannon), Ryan White (Renee), Sandra Pike, Andrea Pike, John Pike, and great grandchildren Skylar Pringle, Gavin Pringle and Cyrus Pike. Never far from her mind were her many nieces and nephews and their children whom she so adored and stayed close with over the years. She could often be heard saying, "I've lived a good life". She had found contentment in this world and it could be felt in her smile. Audrey was known to all as a extraordinary cook. She loved being in the kitchen whipping up gourmet meals, entertaining her friends, her weekly card games, and lunches at the Glynmill Inn with the "girls". Audrey was active with the church in her day and her faith carried her through all her trials and tribulations. She also enjoyed volunteering at the Wonderland School for many years. She found joy in the simplest things, going to the grocery store, a drive down the bay or a phone call from a friend made her day. Through her many battles she saved a smile for everyone and continued to leave her mark in this world. She was an inspiration. We will remember her warmth, her energy, her love for friends, family and dinner parties. Audrey was our Matriarch, the Queen Bee and a fighter. Love live her beauty through all of us. Thank You to the Nurses and Doctors in Palliative Care who lovingly took care of her and to Reverend David Russell and Wayne and Linda Lewis for always being there. We will remember your kindness towards our mother. With respect to our mother's wishes cremation has taken place. A celebration of her life will be held at a later date. In Lieu of flowers we ask that you bake something and pass it on to someone in need of a "pick me up". It's what she would have done. If you can't bake and you wish to make a donation in our mother's memory, then donate to any children's charity.
