Cissie Lamb
LAMB, CISSIE
On Monday, July 13, 2015 Cissie Lamb, age 93, passed away peacefully at the Nashwaak Villa in the Village of Stanley. She was predeceased in 2010 by her husband Murray Lamb.
Cissie is survived by her children Jo Anne Stillwell (Olie), Donna Richard (Dennis), and Robert Lamb (Sandra). She will be fondly remembered by her grandchildren Alyse, Daralyn, Dehrig, Donahue, Matthew, and Nicholas along with several great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Born in Great Ayton, Yorkshire, England in 1922, Cissie came to Windsor, Ontario with her family at an early age. It was there in 1945 that she met Murray, a new member of the RCMP. Shortly thereafter Cst. Lamb was transferred to Woodstock, NB. In December 1946, Murray returned to Windsor, married Cissie and brought her East. Thus began a series of two year posting at various detachments within New Brunswick. Cissie was a housewife throughout her life but in many of the one man detachments she was the “second man” in the office while Murray was on patrol. In the later years both Murray and Cissie were active members of the RCMP Veterans Association.
Cissie had a very green thumb. She loved to garden and had a special way with flowers. She will be missed for her cooking and baking skills as well. Fortunately her special recipes are in good hands.
A special, great big THANK YOU goes out to the staff and residents at the Nashwaak Villa who cared for and befriended Cissie and made her stay so pleasant.
There will be no visitation by request of the family. A graveside service will be held at the Forest Hill Cemetery on July 27, 2015 at 11:00 am with Reverend Richard Bowley officiating.
In lieu of flowers, donations to a charity of one’s choice can be made at www.mcadamsfh.com.
