CARD OF THANKS
We, the family of the late Maynard Irving MacKenzie, extend heartfelt thanks to our family, friends and neighbors for their love and support during our time of great loss. Our thanks for your acts of kindness, visits, telephone calls, words of comfort, expressions of sympathy, cards, prayers, mass cards, flowers, memorial donations and to those who traveled from near and far - we were so grateful to have you by our side.
We thank Rev. Brian MacLeod for his visits, prayers and guidance and he and Deacon Walter Ivany for their prayers and readings during Maynard’s celebration of life service; Farquharson Presbyterian Church; Maynard’s students Zach MacIver & Samantha Parsons, the Choir, Shaaron Bartlett, Brian Mason and the Cape Breton Fiddlers Association members for their uplifting music at the church; the Honorary Pallbearers Malcolm MacKenzie, Donald P. MacDonald, Alexander MacRae, Brian MacIver, Archie MacLellan, Kenzie Matheson, Gary Collins, Walter Whitty, A. J. MacRae & Lloyd Northen; Sunset Funeral Co-operative for their compassion and professionalism; Sharon, Katherine & John for their bird’s eye view of Maynard’s life on the Yankee Line; Jessie MacRae for organizing the reception following the church service; Middle River Community Hall and the Middle River Seniors Group for the reception luncheon; and all those who thought of us that day but couldn’t be with us.
Our thanks as well to MacLeod House and Staff for the wonderful afternoon musical tribute to Maynard on Sunday, June 14th; to all the musicians who played and sang in his honor; and to all who dropped by to remember Maynard and the tunes he loved. He would have been so humbled and touched by your presence.
Poppy Maynard would have been so happy to see all his grandchildren whom he loved dearly.
To each and everyone who reached out to us in any way please know your thoughtfulness and kindness will not be forgotten.
