Passed peacefully away in the presence of her loving family, at the Palliative Care Unit, St. John's, on Sunday, August 2, 2015, Elsie Corcoran (nee Barrett) of Riverhead, St. Mary's Bay, aged 82 years. Predeceased by her loving husband Simon Corcoran (October 31, 1988), parents Jack and Lizzie Barrett, daughter Anastasia, grandson Paul, son-in-law Dennis; sisters: Alice, Margie and Ethel and brothers Roy and Jack. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories her children: Shirley (Kevin), Wayne (Lucina), Dennis (Cindy), Paul (Phoebe), Elizabeth, Ruth (Mac), Ellen (Steve), Kay (Wayne), Allison (Paul), Marion (Leo), 21 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, sisters: Edna (Johnny) and Marion (Eugene), extended family members: Jerry (Agnes), Phonse, Willie (Ruth) and Theresa and a large number of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. A special thank you is extended to the staff at Palliative Care for their kindness and care and to Dr. McGarry for his continued care while she courageously battling cancer. A special thank you to the "Best of Care" staff who helped take care of her during the past few years. We would also like to take this opportunity to thank her exceptional neighbors Ruth, Winnie and Irene for their continued friendship, help and care during the past year. Resting at Gibbons' Funeral Home, St. Mary's, on Tuesday, August 4, from 7-9 pm and Wednesday, August 5, 2-4 pm; 7-9 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, August 6, at 10:30 am, at St. Joseph the Worker Church, Riverhead. Interment to follow at Riverhead.
