James Russell Wadden: Sept. 7, 1942 – Aug. 5, 2015
A tired soul has found rest and it is with great sorrow, yet a sense of peace for my kind loving husband and my best friend as he slipped quietly away August 5, 2015 as Lewy Body Dementia took so much away from him the last 3 years of his life. With blue eyes and a warm heart, Jim was a very kind and gentle man to all who knew him. Left to cherish our memories and will be missed so much by his wife Beatrice (DeeDee) of 10 years. Jim was born in New Glasgow to Alec and Mary Wadden and later moved to Green Hill. Jim spent his life doing what he loved so much and that was teaching. He retired from his teaching career in 1994. His favorite hobby was his gardening which he spent many hours labouring over. Jim was an avid Toronto fan. He is survived by his father Alec and brother Wayne (Theresa), his niece Jennifer, nephews Greg, Jeff (Janice) and grand-niece Natalie. He was predeceased by his mother Mary and his first wife (Patricia). Also left to mourn are his step-children Donnie (Debbie), Delores, Debbie, Darlene Fox, Robin, Paul, and Mark (Elisha) Tingley. He was such a great PaPa Jim to his 8 step-grandchildren. Jim was an adherent member of Maranatha Bible Church.
Cremation has taken place. The family will receive friends from 1 pm until the time of the memorial service at 2 pm on Monday, August 10, 2015 in the Maranatha Bible Church, 490 Abercrombie Road New Glasgow with Pastor Jerry Stearns officiating. A reception will follow in the Church Hall. Internment will be held in the Durham Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Maranatha Bible Church, Alzheimer’s Society or a charity of one’s choice. Special thanks to the paramedics and staff at Windsor Hospital who made Jim’s final day so peaceful.
Death leaves a heartache no one can heal, love leaves a memory no one can steal.
Arrangements are under the direction of the H.W. Angus Funeral Home, New Glasgow.
