We, the family of the late Fr. Bill Rankin wish to extend our deepest appreciation to family, friends and neighbors during our recent loss. We really appreciate all the visitors who visited Fr. Bill from near and far at his home before his passing. He really enjoyed all those visits. Thank you to the palliative care team-CBRM and Glace Bay General Hospital staff, V.O.N., Dr. O’Brien and Dr. Diane MacLachlan. Thank you to those who called our home, sent Mass Cards, memorial cards, flowers, donations to charities, sent food to our home. We appreciate those who travelled distances to attend the wake and funeral. Thank you to Fr. Leo Boone, P.P. for his assistance and support. . Thank you to Fr. Paul MacGillivray for leading the vigil-and to all the priests who attended along with friends and family. Thank you to Bishop Brian Dunn for celebrating the Funeral Mass at St. Ann’s Church, Glace Bay, along with the priests of diocese concelebrating- also Deacon Rev. Lorne MacNeil (altar) and Rev. Mr. Walter MacKinnon (word) for participating. Thank you to K.O.C. 4th degree, St Ann’s Choir, the readers, altar servers, pallbearers, and honorary pallbearers –CWL for the reception following the funeral. Special thank you to Fr. Peter MacDonald for all his support, cousin Yvonne and John Maxner-also Gerard Gouthro and Michael MacIntyre for all you did for Fr. Bill. Thank you to Basil MacGillivary Sr. and his staff-you were wonderful. Fr. Bill will be missed forever but we know he will live in the hearts of all who shared their grief with us, during this difficult time.
