With broken hearts, the family of the late John Bennett announce his sudden passing on August 9, 2015 at the Health Science Centre in St. John's, NL, Aged 65 years. Born in Bar Haven, NL, John was the son of the late Patrick and Martha Bennett and lived in Trepassey and most recently St. John's. Besides his parents, John was predeceased by his parents in law, Joseph and Anne Corrigan, Brothers Stan, Tony, Pad, and Vince and sister-in-law Brenda. John leaves to mourn his wife Bernice, the love of his life and best friend, his son Jonathon, his pride and joy. John will be sadly missed by his loving sisters Irene McNeil and Agnes Ricketts (Art); his brothers Tom (Rosemary), Kevin (Anne), Don, Ambrose (Myra), Michael (Louise), and Bob (Phil); His brothers-in-law Father John Corrigan, Tom (Sarah), Bill (Edwina), Don (Bride) and Sisters in law Sr. Helen, Mary Molloy (Ray deceased), Sr. Dorothy, and Theresa Power (Derm Deceased), Belle, Marie, and Anne-Marie as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many loving and caring friends, especially his friends from Bar Haven whom he loved dearly. John will rest at Caul's Funeral Home, 84 LeMarchant Rd. in St. John's where visitation will be on Wednesday, August 12 from 24 and 7-9 p.m. Visitation will also take place at Trepassey where he lived for over 40 years, at Fahey's Funeral home on Thursday, August 13 from 3-9 pm. Services will be held on Friday, August 14 at 10 AM at Holy Redeemer Parish in Trepassey with Fr. Peter Golden as celebrant. A private Burial will take place at Holy Scpulchre Cemetery in St. John's on Friday, August 14. As an expression of sympathy, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made in John's memory to Holy Redeemer Parish in Trepassey. A special thanks goes out to the nurses, doctors and support staff of the CCU Unit at the Health Science for their care and compassion and particularly to lifelong friends Frank and Phylllis Browne for their exceptional kindness and support.
