Parial S. Razvi
MBBS FRCSC, FACS, FACOG
April 3, 1930- August 11, 2015
With deep sadness the family of Parial Razvi announce his passing on August 11, 2015 in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan after a long and courageous battle against mesothelioma. Forever remembered by his loving wife Joyce of 52 years; his children Hassan (Marilena) of London, Ontario, Sheena Nabholz (Barry) of Cameroon, Shameem Arndt (Duane) of Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan; and adoring grandchildren Scott, Erica, Gillian, Kyle, Olivia, Matthew and Claire; sisters Amir and Shanoo of Pakistan; brother-in-law Michael (Jean); nephews David (Tenille) of Regina, Saskatchewan; nephews Ahmed and Sajid and their families in Pakistan. Dr. Razvi was born in Hyderabad, Pakistan on April 3, 1930. After completing medical school at the Dow Medical College in Karachi, he moved to the United Kingdom to train in Obstetrics and Gynecology. It was there that he met a young nurse, Joyce Wild who he would marry in 1963. Fellowship training in the United States and Canada then followed. In 1969, he began his practice in Obstetrics and Gynecology in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan where he was a member of the hospital staff at the Providence and Union Hospitals where he also served as chief of staff. By rough calculation it was estimated that he helped to bring in over 7000 babies into the world during his long obstetrical career. In 1989 he moved to Fort McMurray, Alberta to serve as the Chief of Staff at Fort McMurray Regional Hospital working there until 2001. Dr. Razvi then returned to Moose Jaw and continued to practice gynecology until his retirement in 2007. A thoughtful, principled and dignified man Dr. Razvi was hard-working physician devoted to his patients. Despite the demands of his medical practice he always found time for family, and many fond memories remain of time spent at the family cottage. He will be sadly missed by his family, friends, colleagues and former patients. The family would like to sincerely thank the nursing staff at the Moose Jaw Union Hospital for their outstanding care and compassion; to Drs Richard Inculet and Michael Sanatini in London, Ontario and Dr. Linda Neilson at the Alan Blair Cancer Centre in Regina their support and expertise; special thanks to Drs. Brian Sanderson and Falah Majid for their friendship and medical counsel. A Memorial Gathering will be held for family, friends and colleagues at Jones Family Resource Centre, 262 Athabasca St.E., on Friday August 14, 2015 at 11:00 am to 1:00 pm. If desired, in lieu of flowers please consider a donation to the Moose Jaw Health Foundation or the charity of your choice. In living memory of Dr. Razvi, a memorial planting will be made by W.J.
