We, the family of the late Mary K. Astephen, wish to extend our deepest gratitude and appreciation for all the love, kindness and support shown to us during our recent loss. Thank you to all who telephoned, visited from near and far, brought food to our homes, attended the wake and Funeral, sent e-mails, mass cards, enrollment memorials, donations, flowers and sympathy cards with such beautiful comments of Mum, our hearts were touched by the overwhelming show of support and love by all. To Dr. Stephanie Langley, thank you so very much for your many years of friendship and care given to Mum. Thank you as well to the doctors, nurses and staff of the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Emergency room, Operating room, Recovery room, 3A and 4West at Northside General Hospital, for the care and compassion shown to Mum during her brief illness. To the staff of the Northside Community Guest Home, MacEachern House, a special thank you for your kindness and care of Mum. We would also like to thank Peter, Dan and staff at W.J. Dooley Funeral Home for their compassion and professionalism. A special note of thanks to Rev. Patrick O’Neill for his touching and personal celebration of Mum’s life at the Funeral Mass. To Kim Dunn, her godson for his beautiful rendition of “The White Cliffs of Dover”, how appropriate! Thank you to the St. Joseph Church Funeral Choir and especially Maureen, Eileen, Mary and Monica, for singing the uplifting song “Day Is Done”. To the readers, grandchildren Sarah, James, Stephanie and daughter Barbara and to the offertory gift bearers Paula, Leo and David, thank you so much. Special thank you to her grandchildren who were Pallbearers and Honorary Pallbearers and to granddaughter Lee Ann and her daughters Ella and Lily for the beautiful poem. Nanny Astephen would be so proud of you all! Thank you to the St. Joseph Funeral Reception for the wonderful luncheon following the funeral. A heartfelt thank you to Clare’s “Angels” who provided lunch at the Northern Yacht Club, your kindness will never be forgotten. To anyone who helped in anyway, we are forever grateful.
