Passed peacefully away in the presence of his loving family on August 16th, 2015, Clem Best in his 78th year. Born on Merasheen Island on August 15th, 1937. Clem is predeceased by his parents Amelius and Ethel Best, infant son Gordon and brother Aiden. Left to mourn his loss is his wife of 55 years Ann; 8 children, Joe (Mary), Anita (John Gambin), Gerard (Sharon), Jen (Peter Power), Carol Ann (Johnny Williams), Ed (Michelle), Ron (Jen), and Sharon (Marcel Leonard); 24 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren; also a number nieces, nephews, family and friends; sisters, Sister Anita Best, Matilda (Rod Pomroy) and Isabelle (Peter Collins deceased); also childhood friend Paddy Moore. Clem was an honorary member of the Star of the Sea Placentia where he loved a good game of cards with his buddies and a scuff with his wife. Resting at Maher's Funeral Home on Monday, August 17th, 3-5 pm and 7-9 pm and Tuesday, August 18th, 2-5 pm and 7-9 pm.
