89, Bible Hill, passed away suddenly on Sunday evening, February 1, 2009, at her home. Born April 7, 1919, in Cardigan, P.E.I., she was a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Angus MacPhee. Annie was a member of Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church, Truro. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother and sister who loved her family dearly and extended this love to the many foster children she cared for over the years. Annie is survived by her daughters, Ann O’Donnell, Truro; Mary MacDonald, Halifax; sons, Gordon (Sheila), Nashville, Tennessee; Merlyn, Bible Hill; grandchildren, Faith O’Donnell, Truro; April Oxner, Halifax; Sabrina and Joey MacDonald, Dartmouth; nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, John Alfred; sons, Daniel and Douglas; sisters, Mary Stewart, Angie MacKinnon; brothers, Allan, Mike, Ad, George and Francis MacPhee. Arrangements have been entrusted to Mattatall - Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street, Truro, where Annie’s family will receive friends from 4-7 p.m. Wednesday, February 4, 2009. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at a later date in Saint George’s Roman Catholic Church, Saint George, Prince Edward Island. Interment will then be in the church cemetery. Reception will follow. Family flowers only. If so desired, donations in Annie’s memory to Saint George’s Roman Catholic Church Cemetery are welcomed.
