1926 - 2015
Peterborough, Ont - Isla G. McKnight, widow of the late Ernest McKnight, passed away at her residence, at Extendicare, Peterborough, on Saturday, August 15, 2015, at the age of 89. Born in Toronto, Ont., on May 18, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Sidney and Gertrude (Cushing) Reynolds.
She was a homemaker and attended the United Church of Canada.
She is survived by four daughters, Erna Allen (Neil), Ruth Coleman (Ken), Dale Bailey, Bonnie Bunker (Kevin); one son, Mel McKnight (Alexandra); nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband of 55 years, Ernest McKnight, in 1999; two grandchildren Eric Allen and Laura Murdock (Bunker); one sister, Myrtle Ferguson.
Visitation was held from Kaye Funeral Home, Peterborough, Ont. on Thursday, August 20, 2015. Remains are transferred to Adams Funeral Home Ltd., 140 King St., Miramichi, with visiting on Wednesday evening, August 26, from 7 to 9 pm. Funeral service will be held from Adams Funeral Home Chapel, on Thursday, August 27, 2015, at 2 pm. Interment will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Miramichi.
