MAHON, Michael Daniel (July 21, 1917 to Feb. 1, 2009) — Passed peacefully away in the presence of his family on February 1, 2009, Mike Mahon of Torbay, age 91 years. Predeceased by his parents John and Annie Mahon, sister Josephine Doyle, brothers: Jackie, Alfie, Will and Pat Mahon, brothers-in-law: Patrick Doyle, Johnny Murrin and Eddy Fleming, sisters-in-law Nellie Mahon (nee Ryan) and Agnes Mahon (nee Holden). Leaving to mourn his loving wife of 60 years, Eleanor (Manning), his children: Joan (Joe) Maynard of Flatrock, Gerard (Judy) Mahon of Ottawa, Garry (Mary) Mahon of Torbay, Colleen (Mike) Gordichuck of B.C., Lynn Mahon Aitken of Torbay and Michael Mahon of Montreal. Eight grandchildren: Joey (Sharon) and Keith (Shelly) Maynard, Shane (Kathleen), Jason and Andrea Mahon, Danielle Aitken, Stephanie and Amy Gordichuck. Three great-grandchildren Jayden Mahon, Alexander and Nicholas Maynard. brothers: Joseph (Kay), Walter (Betty), Leo (Rhea) and Jimmy (Margaret); sisters: Mary Fleming, Alice Murrin and Theresa (Mike) Crowe; sisters-in-law: Patsy Mahon and Josey Mahon, as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Resting at Caul’s Funeral Home, Torbay. Visitation on Tuesday and Wednesday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral Mass will take place on Thursday, February 5, 2009 at 11 a.m. from Holy Trinity Church, Torbay. Interment to follow at Holy Trinity Cemetery. Flowers gratefully accepted or donations in his memory may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
