WHELAN, Madeline M. – Passed peacefully away at St. Clare’s Mercy Hospital, on February 3, 2009, in the presence of her loving family, Madeline M. Whelan of Cape Broyle, age 95 years. Predeceased by her infant daughter, her sister Catherine Melvin, 1990 and her husband Patrick Whelan, 1990. Leaving to mourn her children: Elizabeth and William; brother-in-law John Whelan, his wife Josephine and the Whelan family; her lifelong friends: Kathleen Murphy, Agnes Glynn, Margaret Crockwell, Margaret Grant and Margaret Power; as well as other relatives and friends. Resting at Ryan’s Funeral Home, Bay Bulls, Wednesday, February 4th and Thursday, February 5th from 2 p.m. - 9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial from Immaculate Conception R.C. Church, Cape Broyle on Friday, February 6th at 11 a.m. Internment to follow at Our Lady of the Cape R.C. Cemetery, Cape Broyle.
