LANGIS, JEAN VALMOND
1938 - 2015
Jean Valmond Langis, 77, of Dieppe and formerly of Shediac, NB, passed away on Thursday, August 27th, 2015 at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont University Hospital Center, Moncton, NB.
Born in Moncton, NB, he was the son of the late Antoine and the late Perina (née: Boudreau) Langis.
Prior to his retirement, Mr. Langis had a career in the R.C.A.F. for 26 and half years, followed by 18 years at Villa Providence in Security/Maintenance. He loved camping and was an avid fan of the Moncton Wildcats, often referred to as the 7th player. He was a long time member of Saint-Joseph parish in Shediac and more recently of Saint-Anselme parish in Dieppe.
He is survived by wife, Annette (née: Leger); three children: Marcel Langis and Joanne Ryan, both of Moncton and Robert (Paulette) Langis of Shediac; two step-children: Nathalie (Marc) Legere of Moncton and Michel Doiron (Jennifer Johnson) of Dieppe; his siblings: Gloria (Frank) LeBlanc of Dieppe and Rod (Barb) Langis of Quispamsis; seven grandchildren: Joshua, Jenna, Alex, Marc, Monica, Alexia and Maxime; one great-grandchild, Marley; several nieces and nephews, as well as his beloved companion, Misha.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his 1st wife, Cecile (née: Leger) and also by five siblings: Carmen, Paul, Rodrigue, Rene and Rudy.
Visitation will be held from the Chartersville Funeral Home, 363 Amirault Street, Dieppe, NB (857-1901) on Sunday from 2 to 4 pm and from 7 to 9 pm ONLY. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from Saint-Anselme Roman Catholic Church, Dieppe, NB, on Monday, August 31st, 2015 at 11 am.
Interment in Notre-Dame-du-Calvaire Cemetery, Dieppe, NB.
Donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
