SAMUEL PROSSER
Card of Thanks
Samuel Prosser
We, the family of Samuel Prosser, wish to convey our sincere gratitude to all who showed support for us during Dad’s recent illness and passing. We are so very thankful to my cousin Donna MacDonald and her husband Doug for opening their home to us for an extended period and keeping us fed and comfortable all the while. But, it went much further than that: Donna virtually wrote the obituary, accompanied me on many visits with Dad, and participated in the funeral by reading the lesson, singing a solo and delivering the eulogy.
Cousin Max Prosser visited Dad daily to comfort him as he began his journey. Lois McDonald, a dear friend, continued to visit and support Dad right to the end. The entire staff at Miner’s Memorial Manor were wonderful, showing exemplary compassion and care for Dad far exceeding all expectations. Moreover, they were very kind and thoughtful to us making our visits as comfortable as possible. Thank you to Dr. Paul Hickey for your many years of friendship and medical care. Also, thank you to Bev Muldoon for your kindness and compassion.
St. John the Baptist Anglican church was very important to Dad throughout his life and true to form provided a wonderful sendoff for him. Reverend Debbie Strickland conducted a very touching service; the choir made a special effort to make the service very memorable, and the organist, David Murray, chose wonderful music for the prelude to the service. The ladies of the ACW provided a lovely lunch after the service. Although he wasn’t present at the end, we want to thank The Reverend Julio Martin for attending to “Uncle Samuel” (as he called Dad) in his later days. We are very thankful for the thoughtfulness and caring of so many unnamed others. You comforted us in many ways during this difficult time. The staff at W. J. Dooley funeral home performed their role in a compassionate and competent manner.
Sincerely,
Shirley Curtis and family
