TOZER, JOHN EDWARD (JACK) - 1933 - 2015 - Miramichi - Miramichi - John Edward (Jack) Tozer, husband of Doris L. Tozer, of Henderson St., Miramichi, passed away at his residence, on Friday, September 4, 2015, at the age of 82, following a brief illness.
Born in Sillikers, on July 29, 1933, he was the son of the late Omar and Mae (Somers) Tozer. He was a well known, self employed businessman and the founder of Tozer Insurance Ltd.
He was a member of St. Andrews United Church, Miramichi and a former Trustee and member of the Board of Stewards of his church; a Past President of the former Chatham Lions Club; a member of both the former Chatham and Newcastle Curling Clubs; a former executive member of the Miramichi Golf & Country Club; a Past President and former Director of the Miramichi Agricultural Exhibition Assoc.; a former Director of the Insurance Board of N.B.; a 40 year member of the Highland Society of N.B., at Miramichi; a member of the R.C.A.F.A. 254 Wing, in Miramichi.
He is survived by his wife, the former Doris L. Fowlie; one daughter, Sandra Lee Stewart (Nelson), of Miramichi; one son, J. Edward Tozer (Franceline), of Bathurst; three grandchildren, Lydia Stewart and Bradley Tozer (Nathalie) and Jody Forrest (John); one great grandchild, Makayla Forrest.
Visiting will be at Adams Funeral Home Ltd., 140 King St., on Sunday, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. Funeral service will be held from St. Andrews United Church, on Monday, September 7, 2015, at 2 pm, conducted by Rev. Charlene Maguire MacKnight. Interment will be in Riverside Cemetery, Miramichi.
