LaFOREST, DOLLARD
Dollard “Dutch” LaForest of Moncton passed away peacefully at the age of 81 at The Moncton Hospital on Saturday, September 5, 2015, with his family at his bedside. Born in Drummond, N.B., he was the son of late Ernest and Leda (Bellefleur) LaForest.
Dollard enjoyed 21 years of retirement from being a butcher in the meat department at Dominion stores. Lived his life doing what he enjoyed most, fishing, hunting and especially spending time at his summer home with family and friends. May he rest in peace as we always loved him and will think of him often.
Dollard is survived by his wife of 58 years, Gertrude (MacKenzie); daughters, Dawn-Marie MacLeod (Mark) of Lakeville, N.B., Diane Evans of Lake Echo, N.S. and Patti LaForest of Riverview, N.B.; brothers, Lucien (Carmen) of Sherbrooke, QC, Laurier (Jack) of St. Antoine, N.B. and Maurice (late Simone) of Grand Falls, N.B.; sisters, Jean Boudreau (Leo) of Beresford, N.B., Doreen Tierney (late George) of Mesa, AZ, USA and Wilda Powers (Bernard) of Virginia Beach, VA, USA and brother-in-law, Al Parent of Chicago, USA; grandsons, Andrew Evans of Lake Echo, N.S. and Justin Comeau of Moncton, N.B; great-grandchildren, Bailey and Bentley; several nephews and nieces.
Predeceased by his sisters, Aurore Corbin, Venette McIntyre, Gloria Parent and Yolande Thorpe
In honoring the family’s wishes, there will be no visitation hours. A Service to celebrate Dollard’s life will be held at St. Andrew’s Anglican Church, 105 Elmwood Dr. on Thursday, September 10, 2015 at 11:00 am with The Rev’d Douglas Painter and The Rev’d Roderick Black officiating. Reception following the service. Interment to be held at Elmwood Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to Fergusons Funeral Home, 1657 Mountain Road, Moncton (858-1995).
Donations in Dollard’s memory can be made to St. Andrew’s Anglican Church Building Fund or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
