It is with great sadness that the family of the late Bas Packwood, formally of Howley, NL, announce his passing on Sunday, August 23, 2015 at the NRGH Palliative Care in Naniamo, BC of Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma at the age of 71 years. He will be sadly missed by his wife June, his daughter Leanne (Bill) Gray, granddaughter Sarah of Naniamo, BC and son Fred White (Melissa) of Poole's Island, NL. He also leaves behind his brothers John (Yvonne) of Ontario, Brian (Lorraine) of Cow Head, NL and sister Mary (Peter) of Labrador City, NL along with his nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles. He was predeceased by his mother Madeline and father Fred. At Bas' request, cremation has already taken place. A memorial page has been set up on Facebook under George Basil Packwood's Storytelling Memorial for those who would like to share their memories of Bas. We would like to thank all the doctors, nurses and staff at NRGH and Malaspina Gardens for their kindness and the quality of care they have provided Bas over the last 3 years.
