Doris Pitts (nee Vokey) of St. John's, formerly Bell Island, NL, passed peacefully away at the Palliative Care Unit, L. A. Miller Centre, on Wednesday, September 9th, 2015, after a brief battle with cancer. She faced her final days with the deep faith that characterised her life, finding comfort and peace through her belief in God. Doris was predeceased by her husband Alex and brothers Bill, Fred, Robert, Gerald, Harold and Winston. Leaving to mourn are her daughters Sharon and Diane (Uli), grandson Mark Foley and her siblings Daisy, Marie, Dorothy (Jim) and Wallace (Norma). Also leaving to mourn nieces and nephews and many dear friends. As per Doris's wishes cremation has taken place. Resting at Carnell's Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will be held at The Carnell Memorial Chapel on Saturday September 12, 2015 at 10 a.m. with inurnment to follow at the Anglican Cemetery, Kenmount Road.
