It is with great sadness that the family of Hilda Blanche Balsom (King) of Clarenville announces her passing after a brief illness, on Thursday, September 17, 2015, at the age of 76 years. Hilda will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 56 years, Robert G. and their children, Glynn (Chris), Vaughn, Rosanne (Shelley), Bettylou (John) and Bobbie (Marvin) and seven grandchildren, Larissa, Shauna, Krista (Jason), Joshua, Adam (Valari), Abagail, and Aaron. Hilda will also be fondly remembered by her five great grandchildren, Alixandra, Madison, Caleb, Jayden and Avery as well as her brother Cater and sister-in-law Ida and the King family. She will also be remembered by her sisters and brothers in the Rebeckah’s and her vast network of family and loving friends all over the world and where her heart lives in Terra Nova. She was predeceased by her parents William and Gladys King and her infant brother Silas Roy. A Funeral Service in memory of Hilda will be held on Friday, September 25, at 2:00 p.m., at the Terra Nova United Church with Rev. Bob Mercer officiating. Following the ceremony, a celebration of her life will take place at the Eddie Eastman Hall in the town of Terra Nova with food, music and friends. Those who so desire may make memorial donations in memory of Hilda to the Children’s Wish Foundation.
