It is with utmost sadness we share the loss of our Dad. Ira Wellsford Shepard Jr., 73, of Glace Bay, N.S. passed Sunday, Sept. 20, 2015, at home with his family. He was born on Aug. 6, 1942.
He was predeceased by his parents, Margaret (O'Day) and Ira W. Shepard Sr. and his brother Bruce.
He will be sadly missed by his wife of 49 years, Charmaine (Head) Shepard; his children, Jeanne (Bryant), Lisa and Michael (Lisa); his grandchildren, Brittany, Ausha, Brandon, Andrew, Hilary, Jillian, Kirky, Madison, Jessica, Kayleigh their mom, Darlene.
Our Dad was a member of St. Anne's Church. He worked at Nova Scotia Power for 22 years. He retired in 1996. He always had to be on-the-go. He did some wood work, spent time with his best friend, Blennie and came out of retirement to work for Regional Housing until he was 70. He was a great, hard-working, honest-living man.
He will also be missed by his siblings, Doug (Fay), Anita MacDonald (Barry), Annette Martell (Duncan), Paul (Joan), Ken (Roberta), Madeline Hall (Glenn), Velma Boutilier, Martin (Joanne), Lew (Gen).
Cremation has taken place, there will be no visitation as per Dad's wishes. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Anne's Church, Friday, Sept. 25 at 11 a.m.
