With broken hearts we announce the passing of our wife, mother, sister, grandmother and great-grandmother, Janice Emily Carolyn Mader, on Saturday, Sept. 19, 2015, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney.
Born in Sydney on March 2, 1951, she was a daughter of the late Aubrey and Mina (Curran) Keizer.
Janice enjoyed children and working as a bus driver with the Cape Breton-Victoria Regional School Board was her dream job. She was responsible for starting the Block Parent program on Patnic Avenue on Mira Road. Janice was loved by everyone she met for her kind and generous personality, including her furry friends. Her laugh will be remembered forever.
Surviving are her loving husband of 44 years, Ken; daughter, Jill (Bernie) McIntyre, Reserve; son, Brad (Selena), Edmonton, Alta.; sisters, Claudia Pinsent and Karen (Melvin), Dartmouth, as well as her grandchildren, Morgan (Robert) Erickson, Mitchell and Madilyn McIntyre, Reserve, Brady and Ella Mader, Edmonton, Alta. and great-grandson, Matthew, who were the loves of her life.
Janice was predeceased by her grandson, Matthew Bradley in infancy.
Visitation will take place at Sydney Memorial Chapel on Saturday from 12-2 p.m. followed by a memorial service in the chapel at 2 p.m., with Rev. Rosemary Godin officiating. Interment will take place at a later date.
Memorials may be made to the An Cala Unit at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital.
