Kimberly (Kim) Manon Marie McDermott
Age 61, of Stanhope, Prince Edward Island, left this life on September 20, 2015.
Kim worked for many years for the Royal Bank of Canada in the Atlantic provinces. She left her successful career with the bank to join the Prince Edward Island Department of Economic Development and the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency in senior director positions. During her career as a public servant, Kim played a pivotal role in several important projects, especially as project lead in the development and opening of Phase I Gateway Village in Borden, P.E.I., in May 1997.
Kim graduated from the Convent of the Sacred Heart in Halifax and later from Dalhousie University. Kim was an avid reader and loved to garden. She was extremely intelligent, had an excellent sense of humour and very sharp wit.
Kim is survived by her mother Gisele David-Hartling (Jim), step-mother Barbara McDermott, brother Sean (Carla), sisters Lise and Shelley (Simon), nephews Riley (Bailey), Morgan and nieces Casey and Katie (Greg). She was predeceased, this year, by her father William McDermott.
Her family would like to extend a special thank you to her dear friends, Peter and Janice Mclaine, for all their love and support. We also want to thank her doctors and nurses for the excellent care she received in the QE Hospital in Charlottetown.
A memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to QEH Foundation in Charlottetown or the Canadian Mental Health Association.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Hennessey Cutcliffe Charlottetown Funeral Home.
