Winnie Warren of 'Ma-aw’s Hill', 88, Glace Bay, died Sept. 21, 2015, at Glace Bay Hospital.She was predeceased by husband Albert in 1990.
She was the daughter of the late Frank and Annabelle (Boutilier) MacLeod. She worked as a homemaker and at the General Instruments Plant of Sydney.
She was a member of St. Mary’s Anglican Church.
She is survived by daughters, Debby (Jim) MacDonald and children Shannon, Ryan Moores, Donelda and Amanda MacDonald; Susan (Bill) Slykhuis and children Brad Slykhuis, Amanda Twardzik, Sheryl, Torey and Jay-R Thompson; Joan (George) Abbott and children Patrick, Albert, Tiffany. Also survived by 10 great-grandchildren and sister Elsie (Lambert) Truckair.
She was predeceased by great-grandson Kobe, brothers, Jim, Clarence, Bobby, Sammy and Charlie (Gandy) and sisters, Beattie and Dot.
Visitation will take place Thursday, Sept. 24, 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at Patten Funeral Home, 71 Union St., Glace Bay. Funeral Friday, Sept. 25, 2 p.m. at St. Mary’s Anglican Church. Donations may be made to NS Lung Association, Palliative Care, St. Mary’s Church or Charity of one’s choice.
