Monica Elizabeth 'Betty' Campbell

Date de naissance : 21 avril 1944

Lieu de décès : Glace Bay
Date de décès : 20 septembre 2015

Monica Elizabeth 'Betty' Campbell of Glace Bay, N.S.,was escorted to the gates of Heaven on Sept. 20, 2015 after a short-term struggle with ovarian cancer.
She was born to the late William and Beatrice (Boozan) Campbell on April 21, 1944.
A proud mother, grandmother, aunt and friend, Monica was loved by many. Her life was dedicated to raising her children. A selfless woman, she was always present regardless of geography, when life events called upon her support and love. She was our rock to lean on in times of need. Her gentle smile, warm caring heart, wit and charm brought so much joy to those she loved. Until the end, she gave us all such courage and hope and reminded us just how precious life is.
Mom conquered breast cancer in 2005 and was officially in remission after she prevailed through a single mastectomy, and seemingly endless rounds of chemotherapy and radiation and medication. We were blessed with another 10 wonderful years with her, and we cherished each moment. Despite her recent diagnosis of ovarian cancer, Mom never complained or gave up. She kept a brave and cheerful outlook for an optimistic future.
It is heartbreaking to think that we will never get to hug, or turn to her again in this physical world. But we know she is now without pain and at peace to be reunited with her parents, siblings and cherished son-in-law, James Williams, who have all been called Home to God.
Monica’s memory will be forever cherished by her children, Paulette, Wanda (late James), Hector (Cathie) and Derick her baby; and grandchildren, Kirsten (Joey), Brandon, Jordan, Kayla James, Jackson and Henry. She is also survived by sisters, Pearl (Albert) Moore, Rose (Alex) Kosick, Barbara (George) Simmons, Diane and brothers, Charles (Claire), Wayne, David (Diane) and Eric (Brenda).
Cremation has taken place, under the care and the direction of V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home, 16 Reserve St., Glace Bay, N.S. A celebration of life will be held at Holy Cross Church, 230 Seaview St., Glace Bay. 2 p.m. Friday, Sept. 25, 2015 with Fr. Leo Boone officiating. A reception will follow in the parish hall.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be an appreciated way to celebrate her life and to give back to those in need.
Online condolences to the family can be expressed at www.vjmcgillivray.ca.
“Your life was a blessing, your memory a treasure; you are loved beyond words and missed beyond measure”.
