The family of the late Brent Shepherd would like to thank everyone for the love, friendship and support shown to us during a time of great loss in our lives. We are truly grateful for your expressions of sympathy via phone calls, e-mails, cards, visits, food, memorial donations and in just being there. The lovely flowers, so fitting a tribute to Brent, were a great comfort to the family. To the Ballast Ground Fishermen, words cannot express our humble appreciation. Your tribute and expressions of sympathy and friendship will be treasured always. We were deeply touched by the thoughtful funeral message delivered by Rev. Debbie Strickland – thank you for honoring Brent and capturing his spirit. Thanks to Lynda Maxwell for the vocal tribute, and to Aaron Ferguson for delivering the readings. A special thank you to the North Sydney and Sydney Sobeys stores for going above and beyond. Thank you to the North Sydney Fire Department First Responders, the attending Paramedics, the Cape Breton Regional Hospital ER doctors and nurses, and to the staff at W.J. Dooley Funeral Home for their guidance and compassion. To all those that helped out in their own special way, thank you – your friendship meant a lot to Brent. Your thoughtfulness and generosity will always be remembered.
Our dear Brent will be missed forever - it brings great comfort to know he will live on in the hearts of so many whose lives he touched.
Rest easy my love, my Dad, our friend…in fair winds and calm seas.
