Passed away on September 26, 2015 at the Waterford Hospital at the age of 43. Predeceased by his parents: Joe and Floss; brother Joey as well as other family members. Leaving to mourn his son Nick Whiteway; Nick's sisters: Tori Whiteway and Tia Whiteway; long time friend Tammy Whiteway (Nick's mom), brothers: Rick and Shawn. Also two long time friends his aunts: Jenny King and Wanda Reid, as well as other family and friends. Special thank you to the staff at the Waterford Hospital for caring for Des over the years as he became part of their family. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held at Barrett's Funeral Home, 328 Hamilton Avenue on Monday September 28 from 10 am - 9 pm. Funeral service to take place on Tuesday September 29 from Barrett's Funeral Chapel at 2 pm, interment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
