Passed peacefully away on August 22, 2015 at the Royal Victoria Hospital in Montreal after a short battle with Cancer. Hans was born June 1, 1946 in Braunschweig, Germany. He was predeceased by parents John and Elfriede Heintze and niece Carry Mayer-Brodnitz. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories wife Heather Pushie; sisters: Christa Meyer-Brodnitz (Rafi) and Susan Libera (Marco); niece Irit Hariri (Nader); nephew Jonathan Libera; nephew-in-law Dennis Meyer-Brodnitz; great-niece Stella; great-nephew Julius; special friends: Margaret Cole, Alison McTavish and Marie Ralph and many good friends. He worked at Domtar Montreal for over twenty five years and will be missed by friends and colleagues there. Hans grew up in Newfoundland, attended Memorial University and was looking forward to retiring in St. John's. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held at Barrett's Funeral Home, 328 Hamilton Avenue on Monday, October 12 from 2-4 pm. Funeral service to be held on Tuesday, October 13, 2015 at 11 a.m. at Barrett's Chapel followed by interment at General Protestant Cemetery, Old Topsail Road.
