Passed away peacefully at the St. Patrick's Mercy Home, Palliative Care Unit on October 6 2015, Isabel Templeton of St. John's. Predeceased by beloved parents Robert and Agnes Templeton, and siblings Agnes, Anna, Allan, James, and Robert. Survived by loving brothers David and Peter (Margaret), and 21 nieces and nephews and their families, all of whom adored their "Auntie Bel." Many people will fondly remember Isabel as their first school teacher, as she was a kindergarten teacher at Harrington School. Later on, she became a vice-principal at Macdonald Drive Elementary School. She served in the Girl Guides for over half a century and received numerous honours, including the Diamond Trefoil Guild and having the Guides' provincial archives named for her. She was also an active and life-long member of St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church. Isabel was an avid reader, monarchist, artist, traveler, and nature lover. Wise, comforting, and always full of joy, Isabel will be deeply missed by all of her family and many friends. Our sincere thanks to all of the doctors, nurses, and medical staff at Tiffany Village and St. Patrick's Mercy Home who helped to make Isabel's final days more comfortable. Visitation will take place at Carnell's Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road, on Wednesday, October 7 from 7-9 p.m. and Thursday October 8 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will be held at St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church on October 9 at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, the Girl Guides of Canada, or a charity of your choice.
