LUMSDEN, GEORGE - It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of George Lumsden of Fredericton, NB on Tuesday, October 6, 2015 at the Oromocto Public Hospital, at the age of 75. Born in Shippagan, NB, he was a son of the late Robert and Anaïse (Jean) Lumsden.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 53 years, Obéline (Chiasson), his four children; Lise Lumsden Bigras (Gaston), Thérèse Lumsden Arnold (Scott), Pierre Lumsden (Nancy) of Fredericton, NB and Brigitte Stephen (Jeff) of Shellbrook, SK; six grandchildren Crystal (Alex), Janelle, Zachary, Amélie, Médéric and Geneviève; his brother and sisters Lucienne, Aline, Irène, Jean-Guy, Mabel and several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by sisters Hélène, Rina, Réjeanne, Nancy; a brother Bob.
The family will receive friends at Bishop’s Funeral Home, 540 Woodstock Road, on Friday evening from 7:00 to 9:00 pm. The funeral service will be held at l'église de la paroisse de Sainte-Anne-des-Pays Bas on Saturday, October 10, 2015 at 12:00 noon. Interment will be held at St Francis of Assisi Cemetery.
As an alternative to flowers, donations to Sainte-Anne-des-Pays-Bas Church in Fredericton would be appreciated by the family.
