BEVERLY MASON WARD AND JOYCE PATRICIA WARD
Aug. 16, 1925 - Sept. 29, 2014
Jan. 23, 1928 - Sept. 6, 2015
After less than a year apart, and 64 years of married life, Mom is together again with her husband, Beverly. She went peacefully to be with her Lord on Sunday, September 6, having suffered from dementia for many years.
Mom grew up in Ontario where she met our Dad in her late teens. She attended Toronto Bible college singing and touring with their extraordinary choir. After marrying in 1950, she tirelessly worked side by side with Dad as a Pastor’s wife, playing piano, teaching Sunday School, and always keeping the door open for extra guests at dinner.
Family was so important to Mom. She was a loving wife, caring mother and beloved granny. Her patience, love of nature, gardening, and music have all been passed down through her children, Sharon (Mark Vern), Mark (Maureen), Colleen (Ed), Phil (Barb), Dave (Ariana), and many grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is also lovingly remembered by her sister Faith and brother, Peter. Mom never asked for much but always gave a lot to anyone she met. We were blessed even to the very end by her beautiful smile, twinkle in her eye, and lovely laugh.
We owe a very sincere thank you to the many workers in the Cedar Cottage and on the third floor of complex care at Christenson Village for the many years you cared for and loved our mom. Some of the smallest things: playing her favourite hymns, quietly sitting by her bedside and making her laugh, and your frequent smiles, did not go unnoticed. Thank you for everything you did that goes far beyond the nature of your job. You were all like her extended family.
A family gathering in honour of Mom will be held Thanksgiving weekend - one of her favourite holidays.
