Isaac Dick
DICK – Isaac P. (July 1, 1912, to October 3, 2015) Isaac Dick passed away quietly on Saturday, October 3, 2015. He is lovingly remembered by his children: Edward and Dorothy (Hamm), Elmer, Kenneth, and Loretta and Mesfin (Gebremariam); his grandchildren: Kevin (Sandra Geddes), Philip, Patricia (Gary Sonnenberg), and Rediate (Kedija Habib); and 8 great-grandchildren (Emily, Levi, Noah, Timothy, Chloe, Tsion, Saura, and Amen). He was predeceased by: his wife, Elizabeth (Wiebe) 1989, his parents Peter and Stella (Conrad), his step-mother Margaret (Sawatzky), his sisters Helena, Mary (Teichroeb), and Lavina, his brothers Peter and Herman, as well as numerous in-laws on both the Dick and Wiebe sides. Isaac Dick was born on a homestead south-east of Rush Lake and at a young age moved to a farm south of Swift Current in the Dunelm area. In his married life he has lived at Coaldale, AB, Milk River, AB, Wymark, SK, Burns Lake, BC, and Swift Current, SK. Most of his working years were spent as a mechanic at GM and Ford dealerships. He retired in 1976 and enjoyed activities such as bowling and fishing. Throughout his life, Isaac delighted in watching nature and was interested in vehicles of all kinds. His curiosity was matched by his sense of humour. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Mennonite Central Committee (MCC) or a charity of your choice. Funeral services were held on Friday, October 9, 2015, at 3:00 p.m. from Zion Mennonite Church with Pastor Herman J. Wiebe officiating. The organist was Grace Funk and the eulogy was read by Phil Dick. The pallbearers were: Kevin Dick, Dale Conrad, Norman Unger, John Dick, Herman Dick, Nathan Letkeman, Harvey Wiebe, Phil Dick and Gary Sonnenberg.
