The Reardon family lost a legacy of love today. Passed peacefully away at the Health Sciences Centre on Thursday, October 8, 2015 in the presence of her loving family, Vida Reardon (nee Savory), age 94 years, originally from Pools Cove, NL. Predeceased by her husband Pat on October 8, 2006, daughter Ruth Burton, grandson Andrew Sullivan, brothers Alfred, Percy and Angus Savory, and sister Sadie Savory. Leaving to mourn her daughters Betty (Derek) Sullivan, Carol (Robert) Parsons, Marggie (Brian) Payne, Bonnie (Gary) Wheeler, Janet (Gill) Bennett and Jackie (Bernie) Hollett: sons Junior (Lorraine), Walter (Ella), Patty (Madonna), Randy (Janet), Stan (friend Theresa Coultas), David ( Ruth), Donnie (Sharon), and Terry (Kathy): 41 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren; sisters Mildred Quilty, Libby (Bob) Rose and Alma Miles; sister-in-law Mary Downey, son-in-law Bill Burton as well as a large number of nieces, nephews and other extended family members. She will also be missed by her former-caregiver, Jean Chafe, and the residents and staff at the Karwood Retirement Retreat. Resting at Caul's Funeral Home, LeMarchant Road with visitation on Saturday and Sunday from 2-9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Monday, October 12, 2015 from St. Patrick's Church at 9:30 a.m. Cremation to follow. Flowers are gratefully accepted or donations may be made to The Children's Wish Foundation.
