Randolph Grenfell Noah Hopkins of Englee, surrounded by his family, was” Promoted to Glory” on Sunday, October 4, 2015 at Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital, St. Anthony, at the age of 84 years. He was a kind and gentle man with a big heart. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories his wife Anne of nearly 60 years; sons Lorne (Donna), Garry (Sheila), Kirke (Kim), Harry (Mary) and Glen; daughters Debbie (Todd) Chaulk and Dolly (Roger) Ellsworth; grandchildren Bradley, Andy, April (Billy), Bonnie (Robert), Cody, Stephen (Megan), Jeremy (Joanna), Trevor, Cassidi, Tammy (Cory), Timmy (Samantha), Troy, Tony, Andre (Tara), Ryan (Jo-Ellen), Stephanie (Steven), Kathryn, Jada and Carter; great-grandchildren Brayden, Chase, Dylan, Ava, Matthew, Faith, Isaac, Tanner, CJ, Jayden, Jaxon, Logan, Lily, Kaley, Kate and Hailie; brothers Percy (Rowena), Esau (Josephine), Bert (Joan) and Wilfred (Regina); sisters Marguerite (Leslie) Canning, Olive (Allen) Compton, Emma (Harvey) Compton, Tina (Terry) Peddle, and Betty (Gordon) Rice; brothers-in-law Calvin (Mildred), Jasper (Brenda), and David Blanchard; sisters-in-law Patsy (Melvin) Anstey, Marjorie Canning and Melvina Hopkins, many nieces, nephews and an extensive circle of friends. He is predeceased by parents Jonas and Tamer Hopkins, father and mother-in-law Thomas and Mary Blanchard, sisters Louise, Effie and Kate and brother Roy. Visitation took place at the Salvation Army Citadel, Englee on Tuesday, and Wednesday from where a celebration of his life was held on Thursday, Oct. 8 at 2:00 p.m. with Lieutenants Randy and Cathy Shears officiating. Interment followed at the new Salvation Army Cemetery. As per Randolph’s request, in lieu of flowers donations can be made to The Salvation Army Cemetery Fund. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatre Funeral Homes, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Siobhan Mauger, funeral director.
