Demmons, Willard Robert “Woody”
Willard Robert “Woody” Demmons, 80, of Lutes Mountain, passed away peacefully at The Moncton Hospital on Monday, October 12, 2015. Born in Minto, he was the son of the late Jack and Helen (Thompson) Demmons.
Woody was a retired CNR Train Engineer with over 35 years’ of devoted service, he enjoyed gardening and was known as the “Mayor” of Chestnut Cres. Woody loved spending time with his family and enjoyed socializing with his friends.
Woody will be sadly missed by his loving wife of 59 years, Martha (Fulton) Demmons; sons, Barry (Glenna) of Gallagher Ridge and Trent (Heather) of Lutes Mountain; grandchildren, Bradley Demmons (Jessica) of Canaan Station, Monica Demmons (Derek) of Cold Lake, AB, Tiffani Demmons of Moncton, April Wadden (John) of Boundary Creek and Jesse Demmons of Lutes Mountain; great-grandchildren, Brett, Jaylee, Jordyn, Jase, Emmett and Zachary; sisters, Barb McDermott (late Bob) of Gondola Point and Janice McKay (Ken) of Tatamagouche, NS; brothers, Jack (Fran) of Fredericton, Herbie (Judy) of Grand Lake and George (Karen) of Riverview; several nieces, nephews and extended family members.
In addition to his parents, Woody was predeceased by an infant son, Harold.
Visitation will be held at Fergusons Funeral Home, 1657 Mountain Road, Moncton (858-1995) on Wednesday from 2:00 to 4:00 pm and 7:00 to 9:00 pm. A Service to Celebrate Willard’s Life will be held from Fergusons Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday, October 15, 2015 at 10:30 am with Rev. Harold MacDonald officiating . Reception following the service in the Funeral Home Reception Centre. Interment to be held in St. Michael’s Anglican Church Cemetery, Newcastle Bridge, at a later date.
