Freddie Wilson, age 69 passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family on Monday, Oct. 12, 2015, at his home in Glace Bay.
Born in Dominion, he was the son of the late Lloyd and Pearl (Saccary) Wilson.
Freddie left Cape Breton as a young man and lived in the Toronto area for many years, where he was employed in the trucking business.
Freddie is survived by his wife of 48 years, Marilyn (Butts) Wilson; daughters, Debbie (Steve), Tina, Tammy (Mike); grandchildren, Tres, Jamie, Tate, Jack, Ethan and Olivia; sisters, Claire (Amis) Myers, Patsy Hall, Elaine (Gualbert) Hanrahan, Marie (Peter) O’Keefe, Belinda (Joe) Almon, Theresa (Elmer) Gibson and brother, Joe (Dianne).

This last eight months, Fred’s comfort and care was under the most amazing people from Cape Breton Palliative Care, VON angels as well as Dr. Guy, Dr. Burns and Tom MacNeil. The care and support Fred received helped not only keep him at home, but gave us a rock to lean on during this difficult time.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Nova Scotia Cancer Society or Cape Breton Palliative Care.
“In loving memory of my best friend and husband, loving daddy and big brother”
He never looked for praises
He was never one to boast
He just went on quietly working
For the ones he loved the most.
His dreams were seldom spoken
His wants were very few
And most of the time his worries
Went unspoken too.
Here was there….A firm foundation
Through all of our storms of life
A sturdy hand to hold on to
In times of stress and strife.
A true friend we could turn to
When times were good and bad
One of our greatest blessings
The man that we called “DAD”.
