Committal Service and Interment

The late Leonie Kennedy (nee Curran), RN of Fermeuse and Trepassey passed away on January 1, 2015. A funeral service and cremation took place at that time. A Committal service and interment will take place in Trepassey at 12:15 pm, Sunday, October 25, 2015 following the regular Sunday mass at Holy Redeemer Church. Interment will be at the old RC Cemetery near the Church. The family of Leonie Kennedy wishes to thank all of those who assisted in any way and for the heartfelt expressions of sympathy during the wake and funeral service. In particular we wish to thank Father John Maddigan for the service and the readers, pall bearers and those involved in the offertory procession. Thanks to Sister Madonna O'Neil for her support of the family and for reading at the service. Special thanks to Mrs. Joan Sullivan, soloist and Sister Maureen Lawlor, accompanist, for the wonderful music. Thanks to both Caul's Funeral Home and Fahey's for their excellent and professional service and for the staff at St. Patrick's Mercy Home, Cradea Manor Home and the Trepassey Retirement Home for the excellent care Leonie received over the last number of years. In particular, thanks to Theresa Ryan, pastoral care at St. Patrick's, whose support at a very difficult time was greatly appreciated. Leonie is survived by her sisters Margaret LeBlanc, Mary O'Leary, Beatrice Murphy, Esther Kavanagh and Teresita Belcourt, brothers Ron Curran and Edward Curran, sister-in-law Zita Curran and brother-in-law Christian Belcourt. She was predeceased by parents Richard and Bridget Curran, husband Vince Kennedy, sister Catherine Graham, sister-in-law Bernice Curran and brothers-in-law Ferd Graham, Al LeBlanc, Bill O'Leary, Tom Murphy and Raymond Kavanagh.
