Trenton - Helen Gladys (Grover) Boyles, of Ivey Terrace, Trenton, formerly of Trenton Road, New Glasgow, passed away peacefully on October 13, 2015 surrounded by her girls, “the pests”. Born in Whitehead, Guysborough County, Helen loved fishing, baking, knitting and a good cup of tea. Helen retired from Michelin, Granton in 1988 after 18 years of employment. Helen was well known as the “Avon Lady” for over 20 years. She was the last surviving member of her family. She is survived by her son, Harold (Terilyn) Grover, French Village; daughters: Barbara (Gerry) Unger, Courtney, BC; Judy (Garnet) Logan, Little Harbour; grandchildren: Francis (Toni) Dauphinee, Spryfield; Dianna Grover (Barry Daniels), Halifax; Donna (Dino) Monk, Tantallon; Shane (Sheila) Clarke, St. John’s, NL; Tammy Clark, Edmonton, AB; Tracey (Darren) Blackadar, Hillside; Tanya (Craig) Wilson, Stellarton; Karen Boyles (Shawn Johnson), Hillside; Verna (Allen) Langley, Hillside; Vernon Boyles, Pictou Landing; Marsha (Lawrence) Herney, Pictou Landing; Stacee (Jeff) Brittain, New Glasgow; Todd Atkins, Saskatoon, SK; Dave Boyles, Charlottetown, PEI; Chad Snair (Aimee Salter), Egypt Road; Aretta Logan (Bernie Bernard), New Glasgow; Alan Logan, New Glasgow; 38 great grandchildren; 13 great, great grandchildren; step granddaughter, Shannon Wood, Halifax; many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Harry Boyles; sons: Wayne and Borden Boyles; daughters: Linda Smith and Catherine Atkins; two children in infancy; grandsons: Hal Grover and John Joseph Freeman Boyles. Visitation Thursday 7-9 pm and Friday 2-4 and 7-9 pm in the R.H. Porter Funeral Home, New Glasgow, from where funeral service will be held at 11 am Saturday with Rev. Aidan Kingsbury officiating.
