ROODE, Pauline Heather – 61, Upper Onslow, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, on Tuesday evening, October 13, 2015, at home. Born February 12, 1954, in Belmont, she was a daughter of the late Leo and Shirley (Roode) Lindsay. Pauline was a faithful employee of Stanfield’s for over 40 years. She loved and cared for her K-9 companion, Barkely, and enjoyed working in her flower gardens. Pauline is survived by her loving husband, George; siblings, Richard (Vera) Lindsay, Brookfield; Brian (Debbie) Lindsay, Shirley Ann Lindsay, Belmont; Larry Lindsay, Fort McMurray, Alberta; Donna Lindsay (Jim Totten), Truro; Randy (Bianca) Lindsay, Onslow; Michael Lindsay, Debert; many nieces and nephews. Special thanks are extended to Dr. Donald Rowe and to Pauline’s sisters, Shirley and Donna, who have provided exceptional care and to all who have kept us in your thoughts and prayers; your love and support is greatly appreciated. Arrangements have been entrusted to Mattatall – Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street, Truro, where Pauline’s family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m., Thursday, October 15, 2015, and 6-8 p.m., Friday, October 16, 2015. All are welcome to attend a graveside interment service that will be held 11 a.m., Saturday, October 17, 2015, at Crossroads Cemetery, 110 Salmon River Road, Valley, Reverend Henry Boehm officiating. Flowers welcome or donations in Pauline’s memory to a charity of choice are welcomed.
