It is with great sadness that we, the family announce the sudden passing of Sonny Morgan, age 79, of Glace Bay, on Oct. 14, 2015.
Sonny was born to the late Abraham and Molly (Cooper) Morgan on May 31, 1936.
He will be deeply missed by his partner Margie who shared a wonderful life together; his daughters, Rose and Marie who were at his side always.
Sonny was a loving and supportive man and father always willing to help anyone in need.
He was a coal miner from 1952-83 before transferring to Labour Canada as a labour officer in the Cape Breton office for 13 years before retiring.
Sonny enjoyed the outdoors. He travelled around from lake to lake fishing and hunting with his longtime buddy Sheldon Gouthro.
Sonny is survived by his partner Margie (son Lester); daughters, Rose (Lloyd), Marie (Danny), Winnie (Dick); sons, John, Fabe (Melissa), Jim (Leslie); sisters, Joan, Marjorie; brother Buddy (Betty); grandchildren, Kristen, Christopher, Caili, Kevin and a number of nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, Sonny was predeceased by sister Marie and granddaughter Tara.
This will be a great loss for anyone who touched Sonny's life and a void in the hearts of those who loved him.
In keeping with Sonny's wishes there are no visitation or funeral services. Cremation has taken place.
Your wings were ready.
But our hearts were not.
