HAWKINS, Daniel
Mr. Daniel Hawkins, 61, of Gillespie Road, Grand Falls passed away unexpectedly at his home on Wednesday, October 14, 2015. Born at Fredericton in 1954, he was a son of the late Wendell and Erma (Hill) Hawkins.
Dan spent his early years in Fredericton,NB, and moved to Gillespie Settlement in 1960. Aside from a work term in Ottawa, Gillespie Settlement remained Dan's home until his death.
Dan graduated from high school in Grand Falls, NB. He attended Atlantic Baptist College in Moncton, NB. Dan was a member of the Ortonville Baptist Church. He was devoted to his family, and spent many years in care-giving.
Dan is survived by brothers: Fred Hawkins of Arthurette, NB and Cyril (Nancy) Hawkins of Fredericton, and sister, Kathleen (Philip) Scott of Parrsboro, NS; nephews: Alexander Scott, Joshua Hawkins and Ronald Scott, and nieces: Ashley Hawkins and Kayla Hawkins; uncles: Clair (Ruth) Hill, Eugene (Jackie) Hill, Paul (Rhoda) Hill and Cyril Webster, and aunt: Mary (Ivan) Nyborg, as well as several cousins.
Visitation will take place at the Ortonville Baptist Church on Sunday, October 18, from 1 to 2:30 pm. A funeral service will take place at the Ortonville Baptist Church on Sunday, at 2:30 pm, with Pastor Charles Johnston officiating. For those who wish, donations made to the Gideons, or a charity of donor's choice would be appreciated by the famly.
