We, the family of Arthur Briggs, regret to announce his peaceful passing on Oct. 18, 2015, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney, surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Donkin on Jan. 9, 1942, he was the son of the late Arthur and Ceceila (Barro) Briggs.
Arthur is survived by his loving, devoted wife, Ethel (Tomiczek) Briggs; his son, Arthur Briggs, at home; daughters, Brenda (John) Mortimer, Charlene (Darren) MacEachern, Christina Briggs, all of Glace Bay; sister, Illona (Herbert) Young; brothers, William (Evelyn), Eric (Claire) and Gene (Marie); grandchildren, Brian, David and Sarah Mortimer, Kristian, Lisa, Danielle, Dylan and Breton MacEachern; mother-in-law, Ethel Tomiczek; sister-in-law, Tillie (Harold) Messenger; brother-in-law, Francis (Brenda) Tomiczek.
Arthur also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, best friend, Murdoch MacKinnon.
Cremation has take place. A committal service will be held at Forest Haven Memorial Gardens (Last Supper Niche wall) on Wednesday, Oct. 21st at 2 p.m.
As an expression of sympathy, donations may be made to a charity of choice.
