Eileen Gallagher

GALLAGHER, EILEEN
It is with such profound sadness that we announce the death of our mother, Eileen Marie Gallagher, wife of the late William Joseph Gallagher and a daughter of the late Albert and Bernadette (Taylor) O’Brien. She passed away on October 21, 2015 in her 89 year at the Saint John Regional Hospital. She remained in her home, as she wished, until very recently.
Mom was born in St Stephen where she taught school before moving to Fredericton to work with the Provincial government. It was in Fredericton where she met her husband. She is survived by her daughters: Mary (Bill Pappas) and Nora (Jim Vickers) and her four sons, Bill (Kim Saunders), Tom, John (Jacqueline) and Mike (Zeta) and her much-loved grandchildren, Gregory Gallagher and Catherine Boyd, Emily Vickers, Lauren and Grace Gallagher, Jonathan and Patrick Gallagher and Meara, Brianna, Cadie and Cailin Gallagher. She is also survived by her sisters Bernice Rathburn (late Lorne), Evelyn Williams (Don) and Connie Harvey (Leon), sisters in-law, Connie Gallagher and Anna Kilfoil as well as many beloved nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by her sisters Hilda Hammett and Maxine Gallagher and several brothers and sisters-in-law.
Mom was loved by all and she had a profound influence on many. Her home was one of love and acceptance and she was faithfully supportive of all her family and friends. We loved her for her kitchen table counsel and conversation. She loved her family more than anything and enjoyed her books and flowers. We will miss her dearly.
Resting at Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB (506-634-7424) with visiting on Friday October 24, 2015 from 2 to 4 pm and 6 to 8 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday from St. Rose of Lima Church at 1:00 pm followed by interment at Holy Cross Cemetery.
