Don Fagan, aged 81 years, passed peacefully away surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, October 22nd, 2015. Leaving to mourn with treasured memories are his loving wife of 55 years, Judy (nee FitzGibbon) and his cherished children, Anne (Ronald Daley), Susan (Sean Connors), Jill, Lori (Tom Hickey) and Donald (Allison nee Angel). Left with fond memories are his grandchildren, Nicole, Stephen, Will, Michael, Christopher, Maggie, Thomas, Holly and Joey. Also leaving to mourn, are his sisters, Mary (George Cornick), Maureen, and Terry (Jack Mooney), his brothers, Gerry (Gertie), Bill (Trudy - deceased), Basil (Linda), Angus (Monique), and Ray (Goldie), his sister-in-law Betty (Maurice Savoy), brothers-in-law Joe FitzGibbon (Joan), Ed FitzGibbon (Donna), Brian FitzGibbon (Sandy), Robert FitzGibbon (Teresa) and Gary FitzGibbon (Debbie), along with a large circle of friends. Predeceased by his parents Gladys and William Fagan, his sister, Jane (Ed Doucette), his brothers, Pat (Sandra - deceased) and Kevin (Debbie). Don was a kind and hardworking man, always ready to lend a hand. He was a gifted story-teller with a sharp wit who loved to share a moment. A wonderful husband and father who built a family with his devoted wife, Judy. He lived by example and shared his values of kindness, generosity, commitment and acceptance. Don leaves behind many family and friends who were honored to know him and will miss him. May the sorrow of losing him be overwhelmed by the joy of having known him. Special thanks to the staff of Hoyle's Escasoni, Chancellor Park and St. Patrick's Mercy Home, who provided exceptional care to Don and outstanding support to Judy and the entire family. Resting at Carnell's Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road, St. John's. Visitation Saturday, October 24th 2-5 pm and Sunday, October 25th 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm. A celebration of his life will be held at 9:30 am, Monday, October 26th at St. Pius X Church, 16 Smithville Crescent, St. John's. Interment to follow at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in Don's memory may be made to the Alzheimer's Society or a charity of one's choice.
