Edith M. Burley
Edith M. Burley, 90, of Monarch Hall, Riverview, and formerly of Halifax, NS, passed away peacefully at her residence on Friday, October 23, 2015. Born in Aroostook, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Mildred (DeMerchant) Walker. Edith was a retired Registered Nurse and a member of St. John’s United Church. She enjoyed playing bridge, spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and doing Volunteer work with Revenue Canada.
Edith will be sadly missed by her daughters, Gwen Burley of Halifax, NS and Janet Burley of Moncton; sons, Paul Burley (Murielle) of Moncton and Edward Burley (Isabelle) of Kingston, ON; grandchildren, Charlotte (Trevor), Jeremy, Rodney (Ara), Tina (Rob), Felix and Rene (Lisa); great grandchildren, Ian, Drew, Morgan, Thomas, Jack and Jennifer; brother, Alton Walker (Arlene) of Aroostook; sister-in-law, Alita Walker; several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Malcolm Burley (1976); sister, Ethel; brothers, Thomas, Lawrence and George.
A Service to celebrate Edith’s life will be held at St. John’s United Church, Alma Street, on Tuesday, October 27, 2015 at 2:00 pm with The Rev. Aaron Billard officiating. Reception in the Church Hall following the service. Interment, Presbyterian Rural Cemetery, Perth Andover.
