CYR, Edward “Eddie” Simon - 67 of the Maritime Oddfellows Home, Pictou passed away peacefully on October 22, 2015 in the home. Born in Pictou, he was a son of the late Leo & Rinda (White) Cyr. Eddie was a long time employee of Northumberland Ferries. He is survived by his wife, Debbie (Hawes), Pictou; son, Sandy (Billie Jo), Port Dover, Ontario; daughters, Tammy (John) MacIntosh; Chantelle (Charles) Fleming, both of Pictou; seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren. He is also survived by brothers, Albert, Pictou; Leo (Cathy); Colin (Linda); and Ricky; sisters, Darlene (Greg) Thornhill, and Debbie (Eric) Bennett, all of Ontario; numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Monday from 2-4 PM & 7-9 PM in the McLaren Funeral Home, Pictou with funeral mass on Tuesday at 2 PM in Stella Maris Roman Catholic Church with Father Tom MacNeil officiating. A reception will follow in the church hall. Family flowers only please. Donations may be made in Eddie’s memory to the Alzheimer’s Society.
