Born in Haystack (Pinch Cove), PB on November 26, 1920. Died peacefully at St. Luke's Home on October 23, 2015. Predeceased by her husband Rev. Canon James A.F. Slade in 1986; sister, Lillian Wendland (Alvin); brother, Norman Gregory (Susie) and brother-in-law, Russell. Leaving to mourn loving daughter, Helen Slade of Toronto; sons: David (Eileen) and Peter; grandsons: Timothy (Ashley), Benjamin and Joshua Slade; granddaughters: Shelley Slade, Carolyn Penney (Geoffrey) and great-granddaughters: Emma and Katherine Penney; sister, Charlotte Squires; brother, Stephen Gregory (Myrtle); nephews and nieces including Rosalie Randell (Calvert), Phillip Squires (Jane), Debra Newton, Mark Wendland (Judy), Sheila Gregory Dorsey (John), Pauline Racicot (Mario), Wanda Gregory, Stephen and Kenneth Gregory and Valerie Flynn (Sheldon) and a wide circle of relatives and friends. Resting at Carnell's Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road on Monday October 26th, from 2-4 and 7-9 and Tuesday Oct 27, from 10-12 noon. Funeral service will take place on Tuesday, October 27th, 2015 at 2 p.m. from the Anglican Cathedral of St. John the Baptist, Church Hill, with interment to follow at the Anglican Cemetery, Kenmount Rd. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory graciously accepted to The Primate's World Relief and Development Fund or the Sisters of St. John the Divine.
